No Ordinary Recital
I was amazed at delighted at Sam's year-end piano recital,
"A Night at the Movies."
I truly enjoyed watching the show. It was not long and painful as is often the case with recitals. ;)
There was even a 10-minute intermission to enjoy movie snacks!
Sam did a fabulous version of Indiana Jones' "Raiders' March."
*Sam's piano teacher is the guy wearing red in the background (and the big pirate in the picture below). Camdon is 15-years old, attends our church, and just so happens to be a great teacher. Sam LOVES him!
He also played in a quartet for a "Pirates of the Caribbean" medley and show finale.
The kids even jumped up on the pianos for a sword fight in the middle of one of the songs. Hilarious!
*My friend is the master mind behind all of this. Cori is the one playing among the swashbuckling pirates. She and her son direct a wonderful piano studio.
We are very proud of our little star!

What's on the Christensens' list for summer fun???
A Tree House!
The kids have been dreaming of a tree house for some time now.
Jared even drew up some elaborate plans.
On Memorial Day, Mike and the boys started construction on a tree fort.
Looks like Mike is doing all of the work!
At least Gunner is there to guard them.
Oh, and Grace is there to look cute.
School is officially out for summer on Monday....
time to start building again!
Baseball Fever

Under the Sea Art Camp
Summer break is almost here. Time for summer art lessons! I am offering an under the sea combo class on June 21 and 23, 1-4 pm. All ages are invited to attend (5+)
The first project is inspired by Eric Carle's book, Mr. Seahorse. We will read the book and look at other picture books to learn about seahorses. Then we will create a multi-media collage using painted paper, watercolor paints, and glitter glue.
The second project involves working with clay, which is always a hit with kids! We will sculpt guppy fish out of clay using basic clay techniques.
Both art lessons have been tried and tested in the classroom at Silverdale Elementary Since both projects need dry time to complete, I am offering this two-day combination class for $30. Class size is limited to 12 so be sure to sign up soon! Email jchristensen@wavecable.com.
